Senior Internship Spotlight! From dreaming about the Parisian art world in his junior year to helping run gallery tours inside a 80th-floor Sutton Tower penthouse today, Daniel is proof that you don't have to wait until college to launch your career!
Before even stepping foot on-site, Daniel dove headfirst into studying the gallery’s full collection. He learned about the artists, historical contexts, and key dates so he could hit the ground running with the deep knowledge needed to talk with clients.
As an intern with Galerie Gabriel_NY, Daniel does it all: client relations, Instagram marketing, event networking, and using CAD/SketchUp to help plan a booth for the upcoming Salon Art + Design fair with Alexander May.
Daniel plans to move to Paris after graduation to study at the Sorbonne and continue his work in design. We are so proud of his drive and can't wait to see all he accomplishes next!

Northern Highlands is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael J. Barcadepone as our next Superintendent of Schools!
Dr. Barcadepone, who has served as Superintendent of Allendale Public Schools for 15 years, will begin at Northern Highlands on January 2, 2027, following the retirement of Dr. Scot Beckerman.
We look forward to welcoming Dr. Barcadepone and his student-centered, collaborative leadership to the Northern Highlands community!

From Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Ghana, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and England, our students are exploring their passions through hands-on learning in entrepreneurship, engineering, architecture, diplomacy, leadership, sustainability, fashion, theater, art, language, civic engagement, and more.
These transformative experiences foster global perspectives, cultural understanding, independence, and the skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing these opportunities and representing Northern Highlands around the world. Thank you to our valued partner, #CIEE, for helping make these life-changing experiences possible.

Now entering its 9th year, the Career & Academic Pathways (CAP) Senior Internship Program provides students with the unique opportunity to gain real-world experience while exploring potential careers with local businesses and organizations.
This summer, our interns are working in a wide range of fields, including engineering, healthcare, nursing, medicine, veterinary science, business, finance, accounting, entrepreneurship, law, government, architecture, psychology, social work, marketing, fashion, hospitality, culinary arts, publishing, media production, sports management, data analytics, and STEM.
Many of our graduates have gone on to receive full-time employment after college from the very organizations where they interned as Northern Highlands seniors, a testament to the strength of our community partnerships and the value of experiential learning.
We wish all of our interns a rewarding summer and look forward to seeing the knowledge, skills, and connections they gain through these incredible experiences.

Our Northern Highlands HOSA students recently returned from the HOSA International Future Health Professionals Conference in Indianapolis, where they competed against more than 15,000 students from around the world!
In just its first year, HOSA has already made a tremendous impact at Northern Highlands, providing students with opportunities to explore healthcare careers, develop leadership skills, and compete at the highest levels. To qualify for the international competition, students had to place among the top three competitors in New Jersey in their respective events.

-Maya Grinberg – Top 10 in Human Growth and Development
-Amelia Karcz – Top 10 in Home Health Aide testing and skills

A special thank you and congratulations to Mrs. Liz Homan, who founded Northern Highlands' HOSA chapter and serves as its advisor. Her dedication and leadership have helped establish this outstanding new program and created meaningful opportunities for our students.

With the popularity of e-bikes and the upcoming changes to law, the Allendale Police Department is co-hosting an event with EZ Ride at the Allendale Community Center on 7/2 from 6p-8p. This will include topics such as safety and law as well as a question-and-answer session.
Mr. Meizys mailed 100 letters written by his AP US Government and Politics students to their Congressman and Senators, lobbying them with information they learned doing their final project podcasts. This is a culmination of a year of civic engagement, which included the efforts of the Supervisor of Social Studies, Mrs. Schumacher, who mobilized Northern Highlands students to work the polls in this year's elections.
