Scenes from our annual Freshman Activity Fair where students learned about our club offerings and enjoyed some ice cream! We thank all of our faculty club advisors and student leaders who shared club information. Thank you #Pomptonian for the treats!
A heartfelt thank you to our Northern Highlands Sports Association for generously providing a wonderful Welcome Back Luncheon for our staff! Your continued dedication, generosity, and commitment to our school, staff, and students are deeply appreciated. We appreciate all you do!
At Highlands, we are continuing to expand opportunities for our students, including our Dual Enrollment program.
Over the last two days, Ms. Kelly Doran from Ramapo College, one of our college and university partners, visited students in our RCNJ Dual Enrollment courses. She discussed the benefits of participating, where credits have transferred in the past, and the opportunities that come with entering college with credits already earned.
We’re proud to offer students opportunities to begin exploring their next steps while they’re still at Highlands.

Today, we celebrated our 2026 CIEE Study Abroad alumni with a special celebration lunch during both lunch periods!
Our students traveled across the globe from Italy, France, Spain, Germany, England, Denmark, Ghana, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and beyond. They returned with more than memories, gaining independence, navigating new cultures, and earning community service and college credit along the way.
Our alumni shared stories, reflected on their experiences, and offered advice to students considering their own international adventures.
Interested in studying abroad? Reach out to Ms. Hayes in Career & Academic Pathways with any questions! #CIEE #HSStudyAbroad #GlobalLearning

💙 Wellness Starts with Support!
Last week, our Wellness Team met with students during class meetings to highlight the many wellness resources and supports available to them.
Students were reminded to ACT when they or someone they know may need support:
A – Acknowledge what you notice
C – Care by showing concern and listening
T – Tell a trusted adult who can help
A simple ACT can make a difference. 💙

This evening, our Board of Education hosted our annual New Faculty Reception to welcome Northern Highlands’ newest faculty members. We are grateful to our BOE for sponsoring this special evening and for their continued support of our staff and school community. Welcome to the Highlands family!
Twenty-five years later, we remember. Northern Highlands students Zoya, Isabella, Ella, and Bridget helped preserve a meaningful piece of our community’s history by filming the Borough of Allendale’s 9/11 Candlelight Ceremony at Crestwood Park.
This year’s ceremony featured a powerful conversation between 9/11 survivor Brian Clark, who escaped the South Tower despite being above the point of impact, and Glenn Corbett, Professor of Fire Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and an expert on the emergency response and building safety issues surrounding 9/11.
We are grateful to these young Highlanders for volunteering their talents to document this important evening of remembrance, reflection, and shared history. Thank you to Ms. Pagan and our Media Studies program for supporting their work.
We will always remember.

Senior Internship Spotlight! From dreaming about the Parisian art world in his junior year to helping run gallery tours inside a 80th-floor Sutton Tower penthouse today, Daniel is proof that you don't have to wait until college to launch your career!
Before even stepping foot on-site, Daniel dove headfirst into studying the gallery’s full collection. He learned about the artists, historical contexts, and key dates so he could hit the ground running with the deep knowledge needed to talk with clients.
As an intern with Galerie Gabriel_NY, Daniel does it all: client relations, Instagram marketing, event networking, and using CAD/SketchUp to help plan a booth for the upcoming Salon Art + Design fair with Alexander May.
Daniel plans to move to Paris after graduation to study at the Sorbonne and continue his work in design. We are so proud of his drive and can't wait to see all he accomplishes next!

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed 25 years ago.
Our thoughts are especially with the members of the Northern Highlands community and their families whose lives were personally touched by that day. We remember, we honor, and we reflect on the strength and compassion that continue to bring our community together.
We remember. We honor. We stand together.
