Northern Highlands is proud to share the success of our student-led Tunnel to Towers Walk, held this past Saturday, which brought together over 150 attendees and raised nearly $8,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which supports fallen first responder families and injured veterans.

The event was created and organized by three students in Mr. Sagliocca’s Honors Business Seminar Class—Jami Patterson, Ele Hollender, and Jordyn Hurwitz— as part of a project-based learning initiative. Their work demonstrates the power of hands-on, student-led projects to make a real impact in the community.

We thank the Allendale Fire Department, Saddle River Fire Department, and Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco for joining us and contributing to such a meaningful day. County Executive Tedesco delivered a powerful speech reflecting on his experience as a firefighter and the legacy of 9/11.

The walk included a Tribute to Heroes on the jumbotron, family activities, giveaways, and a moment honoring Staff Sergeant Joseph D’Augustine, with support from the SSgt. D’Augustine Memorial Fund.

We are incredibly proud of our students for leading with purpose. Highlands students continue to make a real impact—both in our community and beyond.

Congratulations to our Field Hockey team on winning the Bergen County Championship. Their 2-0 victory over Ramsey HS was the team’s 5th consecutive Bergen County title, and the 22nd in program history. The success of our team would not be possible without outstanding players with great senior leadership as well as our
dedicated coaching staff of Ali Ege, Brittany Schneider, and Vicki Ade. We wish the team all the best as they head into the state tournament!

Mrs. Lederman's Honors Marketing students had an incredible opportunity to hear from Northern Highlands alum, Samantha Mulvey, now a Brand Manager in the industry! As part of our Marketing Research unit on Corporate Social Responsibility, Samantha shared how she developed a product from concept to shelf, using real-world marketing research strategies and sustainable business practices. She also discussed how her company builds community through team events and culture. Students loved hearing her story, asking thoughtful questions, and even sampling her products! We’re so grateful to Samantha for coming back to Highlands to inspire the next generation of marketers!
