Thank you to Northern Highlands Home & School Association (HASA) for hosting this morning’s Freshman Parent Breakfast! It was a great opportunity to connect, share, and learn more about the important role HASA plays in our school community. We truly appreciate HASA’s ongoing commitment to making Northern Highlands the best it can be. Thank you for all that you do!

Today, we remember and honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

We also recognize the courage of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the unity shown across the country in the days that followed.

Let us take a moment today to reflect on the importance of compassion, resilience, and community.

We’re excited to announce that the NH School Store is officially open for the year! Stop by (located near the main entrance) and grab your favorite snacks, drinks, and the latest Highlander gear.

At Northern Highlands, we’re proud to offer students real-world opportunities to earn college credit before graduation. For 2025-2026, 618 students are enrolled in 19 dual enrollment courses in partnership with top institutions like NJIT, Ramapo College, Rutgers University, Seton Hall, Syracuse University, and more. This is just one way we prepare our students for success in college and beyond.

We look forward to welcoming our students back to school tomorrow! As a reminder, we will have a special Opening Day schedule. Freshmen only should report to the Main Cafeteria at 7:45 AM for a special morning program. All other grades should report to Homeroom by 10:15 AM. Here's to a great school year!

Over the past two days, Northern Highlands staff have been hard at work participating in professional development workshops and preparing to welcome our students back this fall. We’re especially grateful to our 403(b) providers for generously providing lunch during our sessions -- thank you for your support! We’re thrilled to greet our Highlanders tomorrow and wish everyone a fantastic start to the new school year!

The NH Volleyball Team Store is now open! If you’d like to support the team this year, consider picking up some gear. The store will only be open for a limited time, and a portion of the proceeds will help fund the volleyball program.

With two weeks of band camp under their belt, the Highlands Regiment is gearing up for their performances. The weather was perfect as families enjoyed the preview and a BBQ.

Great to meet the Class of 2029! We're looking forward to a great orientation. Much appreciation to our advisors and student ambassadors.

Great day of learning and collaboration with our Quad partners at today’s New Teacher Orientation seminar. Proud to be building connections, sharing ideas, and starting the year together with a shared commitment to our students’ success. Excited for the year ahead and all we’ll accomplish together.

Shoutout to Senior Isabella (Bella) Zrebiec! Bella is one of our dedicated student volunteers with the Allendale Green Team, and yesterday she led an inspiring litter cleanup event called “The Pick It Up Project.”

With the powerful motto “Be Part of the Solution, Not the Pollution,” Bella rallied volunteers to help remove 36 pounds of litter from Allendale’s public spaces — including fishing hooks and lines, plastic bottles, balloon fragments, and much more.

Thank you, Bella, and a huge thank you to all our amazing student volunteers for helping keep Allendale beautiful!

Day one of our New Teacher Orientation at Highlands is in the books, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome such an incredible group of educators to our team. Here’s to a great year ahead—our students are lucky to have you. Welcome to Highlands!
