SUBJECT: Study Abroad Program Webinar
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
We are excited to share details about a study abroad program available this summer for Northern Highlands students. We invite you to join us on Wednesday, October 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a virtual information session to learn more about a unique partnership between Northern Highlands and The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). This program allows our students to study abroad, earn college credit, and receive community service hours.
CIEE is the longest running study abroad program in the US and has broad applications across the Northern Highlands curriculum. CIEE, a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization, provides students an opportunity to focus on either a world language (French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, German, Italian, Mandarin, or Japanese) or on various thematic programs (Arts & Culture, Business, Leadership & Service, Social Change, and STEM). Students who participate in one of the Language Learning Programs can elect to receive four (4) college credits from Tulane University ($150 transcript fee). Language Learning Programs are 4 weeks long. The Theme-Based Programs are 3 weeks long, and students may earn up to 50 community service credits for their experiences. All programs are held at CIEE Study Centers.
Rising seniors are eligible to apply for merit scholarships, while rising sophomores and juniors are eligible for both merit as well as financial need scholarships (10%-100% of tuition). Graduating seniors are welcome to apply, but they are not eligible for merit scholarships. CIEE also offers STAMP testing and issues Global Seals of Biliteracy for students who qualify.
We hope you will join us to learn more about this wonderful opportunity for our students! Webinar registration and log-in details are here: CIEE Webinar Registration
