Mid-Year Grades
TO: Parents/Guardians
FROM: School Counseling Department
DATE: January 20, 2023
SUBJECT: Mid-Year Grades
Dear Senior Parent/Guardian:
The Northern Highlands School Counseling Department will automatically send out mid-year grades in early February to all colleges and universities from whom your child has not yet received an admission decision. Therefore, it is important that your child’s SCOIR account accurately represents all college decisions that they have received. We ask that if they have not updated their decisions in SCOIR that they please do so as soon as possible. Students and parents do not need to do anything for mid-year grades to be sent. All mid-year transcripts will be sent electronically via SCOIR by the School Counseling Department.
Most colleges and universities require these first semester grades if they have not yet awarded a decision on your child’s application. HOWEVER, if a particular school applied to has not yet notified your child of a decision and they do not require mid-year grades, your child has the ability to request that these grades not be sent to this (these) school(s). To submit this request, your child must let the School Counseling Department know by January 30 by completing this google form. Please understand that it is the responsibility of the student to determine if the schools they have applied to require mid-year grades. This can most often be done by logging into the student portal of each school applied to or by checking a school’s undergraduate admissions website. All students received the above mentioned google form today via their Northern Highlands student email account.
Your child should complete this form ONLY if they are requesting mid-year grades NOT to be sent.
We are extremely proud of all of our seniors and all they have accomplished so far this year. You are welcome to reach out to your school counselor if you have any questions.
Thank you!
