Israeli Conflict

SUBJECT: Israeli Conflict

TIME SENSITIVE: Immediate

Our hearts are with our students, staff, and families impacted by the horrific events in Israel and Gaza that began over the weekend. There are no easy words to express our deep sadness and heartbreak over the lives lost in the attack on Israel over the weekend and the continued violence and terror still being endured now and in the foreseeable future.

As much as we all are impacted to some degree by any violence that occurs here and around the world, we are well aware that there are children and families in our Highlands school community who are personally and deeply suffering and traumatized by these recent events.

If these events impact any students, we encourage them to reach out to a trusted adult at home or school. Parents, we encourage you to share any concerns or worries with our Wellness Department, School Counseling Department, or school administrator. If we know that your child has been particularly affected, we will be able to provide support and care as needed.

We encourage our entire school community to continue to stand together in unity, peace, and respect. Regardless of political, cultural, or religious ideology, Northern Highlands remains steadfast in our commitment to be a safe, caring, nurturing, and inclusive environment as well as fostering a deep sense of belonging for students in our school.
