Dear Students and Parents/Guardians:
The College Board’s AP Program will continue to use the online registration process for AP exams this year. This year, the College Board plans to assess students with fully digital, hybrid, and paper-based exams during the first two full weeks in May. The 2025 AP Exam Schedule can be accessed on the College Board AP Website. Please be advised that Northern Highlands does not offer all AP exams, and will only offer the exams listed in PaySchools. We are asking all AP students and their parents to please read this email carefully, then read and digitally sign the AP Contract in the forms tab in the Genesis Parent Portal. You only need to SUBMIT ONE DIGITAL CONTRACT per AP student regardless of the number of AP course enrollments.
AP Exam Policies: AP students will register for exams in the fall, and must be aware of the policies below. A summary of steps for AP registration and payment can be found on the AP subpage of the Testing Website.
- DIGITAL ACTIVATION: At the beginning of the school year, students were reminded to access/set up their College Board Account to enable them to register for AP Classroom and order their test. AP teachers provided students with unique “join” codes to register for each AP Class Section and for the AP exams.
- Students must resolve College Board account issues directly with the College Board. Neither the AP teacher nor the AP Coordinator can resolve student account problems.
- Students can resolve account issues by visiting the account troubleshooting page or calling customer service at 888-225-5427.
- STUDENTS SHOULD NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT if they cannot recall their login credentials.
- FALL EXAM ORDERING: AP Exams are ordered when students register for AP Classroom, but paid for on PaySchools Central. Each exam costs $99 ($147 for AP Seminar and AP Research) and exams must be both ordered and paid for Thursday, October 31 at 11:59 p.m. PaySchools instructions are attached to this email. Instructions for new PaySchools users can be accessed here.
- FEES FOR LATE ORDERS, CHANGES OR CANCELED EXAMS: The College Board assesses fees for late registrations, changes, and cancellations.
- Exams ordered after the October 31 deadline will incur an additional $40 late fee. No new exams may be ordered after March 7.
- Exam cancellation after the March 7 final deadline will incur a $40 cancellation fee: No refunds will be issued for exams canceled after April 30.
- Students taking an AP class will be automatically enrolled to take the AP exam by default when they sign into their AP Class Section. IMPORTANT: Students who do NOT wish to take the AP exam must inform Sue Spencer by email before the October 31 deadline.
- Requests to take a late exam for College Board-approved circumstances will not incur a fee, provided the requests are made before October 31. Late testing requests should be made as soon as possible, but no later than March 7 by emailing Sue Spencer. Requests for a late exam for reasons not approved by the College Board will incur an additional $40 fee, and may not be accommodated. Wanting to “space out” exams or have additional time to prepare for exams are NOT approved reasons to request a late exam; these requests WILL NOT BE HONORED.
To stay up to date, check your email regularly, follow the NH_Testing Page on Facebook, and join the NH_Testing Remind group.
