Dear Parents/Guardians:
We trust that this letter finds you doing well and enjoying the holiday season. As you may be aware, the first semester concludes on January 19, 2024. Thus far, we are having an excellent school year, and for many of our students, they are succeeding academically and socially. However, there are some students who can use some additional assistance with their studies and we want to point out additional academic supports for any student who may be interested.
- A student's first step in obtaining additional help is to always see their teacher. Students should speak with their teachers to arrange a time to meet before and/or after school.
- Also, students may find additional tutoring useful. Currently, we offer group tutoring sessions during lunch and after school, free of charge, in the core content areas. Our own Highlands teachers are facilitating tutoring sessions in English, math, science, and study skills. These tutoring sessions are set up as small group sessions. The calendar of sessions will provide you with dates and times available. No appointment is necessary, as students can just "drop in."
- All sessions are held in the HELP (Highlands Extended Learning Program) center located in Room 125/126.
- Lastly, students can touch base with their school counselor to connect to a National Honor Society student who can provide tutoring services.
We hope you find this information useful. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Title I Coordinator, Melissa Montegari at montegarim@northernhighlands.
