"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library" JLBPlease read below for information about the supplies you'll need to bring with you when school starts in September 2021. These are required for students in all English 9, American Literature, and Literature and Creative Compostion classess. More specific information about the day-to-day progress in each class period can now be found on Canvas.
EVERY DAY, bring your copy of whatever text we're studying at the time (this includes individual, group, and whole class texts). You'll also need to come to class with something traditional to write with (a blue or black pen or a pencil) and something funky to write with (a highlighter, a pen with a fun ink color, etc- let your imagination run wild) and a college-ruled marble notebook with paper to write on. If you prefer to take your class notes by hand rather than on your device, you should also have either a separate notebook or a section in a binder devoted to English.
You'll need to bring your charged device every day, as we will use these regularly and there is limited charging space in the classroom. Post-it notes and/or page flags are incredibly helpful for taking notes in school-provided texts, and you might want folders to help organize handouts and worksheets. At home, you should have a stapler full of staples; please do not come to class the day an assignment is due and expect to assemble it in the classroom before you turn it in.It is absolutely imperative for your own learning that the work you complete in this class be your own, original work; for that reason, any violations of the academic integrity policy will be taken very seriously.
