TENNIS COURT RULES
- It is determined to be in the public interest to charge and collect fees for the use of the school tennis courts in order to partially defray the cost of establishing and maintaining the same.
- The Northern Highlands Regional High School District has set forth a fee of $10 per family, per year. One card will be issued per family. Cards will be reactivated each year. Checks must made payable to Northern Highlands HS.
- No person shall be permitted the use of the school tennis courts without the use of a school assigned tennis court gate access card, which will provide access to the court and track each individual's use of the tennis court.
- The School Superintendent and the Facilities Manager, are hereby directed to provide for a system for application, registration and collection of said fees and the issuance of authorized use therefore as quickly as possible.
- School athletic events and Board of Education sponsored programs on the courts take precedence over all other use.
- Authorized individuals should commence play on the hour. At the end of the designated hour of play, use may continue only if there are no others waiting. A court must be occupied by a minimum of two authorized players.
- Posted playing hours are from 8:00 a.m. to sunset during hours where school is not in session. During school hours, the courts will remain locked and will be available for use at 3:00 p.m. to sunset.
- Courts will remain closed during inclement and whenever snow or ice exist.
- Courts are to be used for tennis only; no other use is permitted. Roller-skating, skateboarding or bicycle riding on the courts are prohibited at all times.
- Tennis shoes and sneakers must be worn while on the courts.
- Pets are prohibited from being on the courts at all times.
- Smoking, vaping, tobacco products, chewing gum, food, beverages, and music are all prohibited.
- Privately instructed lessons are prohibited on school tennis courts at all times. Requests of District courts for the purpose of lessons may submit an application for facility rental through the Business Office.
- Inappropriate behavior including, but not limited to, shouting and the use of foul language are prohibited.
- Use of facilities and court access is limited to residents of Allendale, Upper Saddle River, Ho-Ho-Kus and Saddle River only.
- Assigned swipe cards may only be used by the individuals which they were assigned.
- Any lost swipe card will require an additional fee of $10 to cover the card replacement.
- Residents that are assigned tennis court gate access cards will be required to sign the district agreement each year. Once the district agreement has been signed, each access card will work from July 1 - June 30 of the subsequent school year. Residents will then be required to re-apply for authorized access the following school year.
- Violation of any of the requirements listed above will lead to the immediate revocation of authorized access.
