Ramapo College Rise Program
Northern Highlands Regional High School
Career & Academic Pathways - Ramapo College Rise Program
Through a special partnership with Ramapo College of New Jersey, Northern Highlands will allow qualified students to enroll in courses during their senior year at Ramapo College that will not only satisfy Northern Highlands graduation requirements, but will also allow students to earn college credit. The current tuition rate is only $123.95 per credit totaling $495.80 for each course, which is a savings of nearly 75% off a traditional Ramapo College course for the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
It is the responsibility of the Northern Highlands student to review his or her final schedule with an appropriate counselor to make sure all courses taken meet high school requirements. The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to participate in the Ramapo College Rise Program:
1) A cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better after junior year at Northern Highlands.
2) Pass all portions of the assessment(s) required by the State of New Jersey for high school graduation.
3) Achieve qualifying test scores on the SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer prior to June of junior year.
Any online and/or seated college class will be weighted as Honors level. This program offers up to 4 college credits at a reduced Northern Highlands tuition rate. Any costs incurred as a result of an online and/or seated college course will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian. The Board of Education will not assume any responsibility for any fees associated with this program.
There are two applications associated with this program -- Ramapo College Dual Enrollment Form and Northern Highlands' Course Request for Advancement/Enrichment. Students who meet the program's criteria should first complete the Ramapo Application. Once the appropriate course is determined, students then should complete the NH Advancement/Enrichment application.
