    For the 2022-2023 School Year, I will be teaching the following:
    Photography 1 (room 201) Periods 2 & 3
    Honors Photography (room 201) Period 7
    AP 2D Art & Design (room 201) Period 8
    AP Art History (room 204) Period 1
     
    All photo classes require a 35mm film camera. 
     
     
     
    If you are purchasing film, you need to make sure you purchase Black & White film for black & white processing. DO NOT PURCHASE FILM FOR C-41 PROCESSING.
    the film we use in class is ILFORD HP5 PLUS 400  (or Kodak TMAX 400)
     

    Searching for a Camera:

     

    For photography class, you will need a 35 mm camera with manual functions (manual focus, shutter speed, f stop).  This means you cannot use a point and shoot camera.  Your camera can be a combination of both manual and automatic and does not need a flash.  Before going out to purchase a camera, I highly recommend asking family members if they have a camera.  It is very likely that there is a camera in your home that would be acceptable for class.  Grandparents and aunts and uncles are also good people to ask.  Now that everyone owns fully automatic point and shoot cameras, the manual camera usually ends up in a closet or cabinet somewhere. If you still do not have a camera for class and need to purchase one, you have several options. Please refer to the list below of some places you can check out. I recommend buying a used camera that has been refurbished. Please check with me before you go out and purchase a specific camera.  If you cannot locate a camera and cannot purchase one, you will not be able to take this class. 

     

    Please note that you will not be able to keep your camera in the classroom when you are not using it.  You are responsible for it and you must take it with you at the end of class.  There will be no exceptions to this rule.
