• SAT scores drop; participation rises | Brainerd Dispatch

The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a standardized test used for college admission. Like the ACT, the SAT purports to measure college aptitude. The SAT currently is the most popular college admissions test, though an increasing number of college-bound juniors and seniors are taking the ACT in lieu of, or in addition to, the SAT. Northern Highlands typically hosts the SAT four times during the academic year: October, December, March and June. For the 2020-21 academic year, due to the COVID19 situation, Highlands will NOT be hosting the SAT until December 5, 2020. Please be advised that ALL STUDENTS taking the SAT at Northern Highlands are required to wear a mask for the duration of the test, pass a temperature screening, and submit a completed, signed COVID ENTRY FORM. This applies to all IN- and OUT-OF DISTRICT test takers. Students will NOT be admitted to the test center without this form.

UPDATE: The College Board will no longer offer SAT Subjest tests, and the SAT Essay will no longer be administered after the 6/2021 test administration. Please plan accordingly!
